Serving our neighbors is one of the ways we live out Christ’s call to love one another. Through our partnership with and support of DLM Food & Resources, we help provide food, clothing, household essentials, and compassionate support to individuals and families facing hardship in the Akron community.

DLM Food & Resources began as a ministry inspired by service, dignity, and care for people in need. What started as support for students and families experiencing homelessness has grown into a community-focused, non-profit organization that serves anyone in need, offering practical help with kindness and respect.

​

Holy Trinity supports DLM through volunteer service, donations, advocacy, and hands-on care. Holy Trinity donates the space in which DLM operates and pays for the utilities and maintenance.  Members of our congregation regularly donate the five most-needed food items:  cereal, peanut butter, jelly, pasta and pasta sauce.  We also help pack food boxes each month and deliver them to families, sort and organize clothing donations, and greet families who come to the in-person pick-up and shopping event, always sharing encouragement with those who walk through the doors. Every donation, every volunteer hour, and every act of generosity helps strengthen this ministry and extend hope to our neighbors.

We believe ministry is about more than meeting physical needs—it is about sharing Christ’s love, honoring human dignity, and reminding people they are seen, valued, and cared for. Through DLM Food & Resources, we are grateful to walk alongside our community and serve in Jesus’ name.
