Adopting a New School!

With the closing of Robinson Community Learning Center as an elementary school last fall, Holy Trinity’s Outreach & Social Concerns Ministry Team decided to take this school year off and discuss what to do moving forward.

  • Do we want to adopt another school or do something else?

  • If we want to adopt another school, which one?

  • If we want to do or support something else, what would it be?

After much discussion at the most recent Outreach & Social Concerns Ministry Team meeting, the decision was clear the group wants to adopt another school for the upcoming school year.

The relationship Holy Trinity had with Robinson CLC for seven years was in part made possible with the support of the principal, Anthony Lane.  After Robinson closed, Mr. Lane was transferred to another school … Rimer Community Learning Center located on Manchester Road in Kenmore.  It was learned that there are 282 students in K-5th grade attending Rimer CLC —150 being African American, 120 being Caucasian and the remaining students being Asian, bi-racial and Hispanic.  And, Rimer CLC does not have a current church partner.

To move forward, an introductory meeting will be scheduled with Mr. Lane and some of the staff at Rimer to talk about a possible partnership and about their most pressing needs.  More information will be shared with the congregation in the coming months.
